Abdullah bin al-Harith (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The mu'adhdhin of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) gave the call to prayer on a Friday while it was raining. When he said 'Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah' (Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest; I bear witness that there is no god but Allah; I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah), he said: 'Sallu fi rihalikum' (Pray in your dwellings). He (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I disliked making you come out, although this was done by one better than me, meaning the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I disliked that you should walk in mud and slippery ground.
