أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ح. قَالَ: وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو النَّضْرِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ الْفَقِيهُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ الْإِمَامُ، وَالْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ، قَالُوا: أنا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ، قَالَا: ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ، رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي النَّجَّارِ، وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ قَالَ: قُلْنَا لَهُ: تَوَضَّأْ لَنَا وُضُوءَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَدَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَأَفْرَغَ عَلَى كَفَّيْهِ، فَغَسَلَهُمَا ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ فَاسْتَخْرَجَهُمَا فَتَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ مِنْ كَفٍّ وَاحِدٍ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ مَرَّتَيْنِ مَرَّتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ فَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ فَأَقْبَلَ بِهِمَا وَأَدْبَرَ مَرَّةً، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " هَكَذَا كَانَ وُضُوءُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ". رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ مُسَدَّدٍ، وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ ⦗٨٤⦘ كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، وَأَخْرَجَاهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِلَالٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى قَالَ: ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ فِي التَّوْرِ فَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ مِنْ غَرْفَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ، يَعْنِي وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ: تَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ كُلَّ مَرَّةٍ مِنْ غَرْفَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ، ثُمَّ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ ثَلَاثًا بِثَلَاثِ غَرَفَاتٍ بِدَلِيلِ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zayd bin Asim (may Allah be pleased with him) was from the tribe of Banu al-Najjar and a Companion of the Messenger (of Allah). We said to him: "Perform ablution for us like the ablution of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." He called for water, poured it onto his palms and washed them three times, then put his hand (into the vessel), then rinsed his mouth and sniffed water into his nose, doing so from one hand three times. Then he washed his face three times, then washed his hands up to the elbows twice each, then put his hand into the vessel, then wiped his head, moving his hands once from front to back and from back to front. After that he washed his feet up to the ankles, then said: "This is how the ablution of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was."
(b) Amr bin Yahya says: Then he put his hand into the vessel and rinsed his mouth and sniffed water into his nose three times from a single handful. (And Allah knows best) that is, each time he rinsed his mouth and sniffed water into his nose from a single handful, and then he did this three times with three handfuls.
