أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْمَحْبُوبِيُّ بِمَرْوَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَيَّارٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ لَقِيطِ بْنِ صَبِرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ أَشْيَاءَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَسْبِغِ الْوُضُوءَ، وَخَلِّلِ الْأَصَابِعَ، وَإِذَا اسْتَنْشَقْتَ فَبَالِغْ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ صَائِمًا ".
Asim bin Laqit bin Sabirah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned some things. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perform ablution thoroughly, pass (water) between the fingers, and when you sniff water into your nose, do so deeply, unless you are fasting (that is, do not do so while fasting)."
