It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Ibn Rawahah, get down and stir the mounts on." He said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I have given that up. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Listen and obey. He says: So he threw himself down (from his mount) and said:
'Allahumma lawla anta mahtadayna, wa la tasaddaqna wa la sallayna' (O Allah, had it not been for You, we would not have been guided, nor would we have given charity or prayed).
'Fa-anzilan sakinatan alayna, wa thabbit al-aqdama in laqayna' (So send down tranquillity upon us, and keep our feet firm when we meet the enemy).
