وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ عَنِ الشِّطْرَنْجِ، فَقَالَ: " هِيَ مِنَ الْبَاطِلِ، وَلَا يُحِبُّ اللهُ الْبَاطِلَ ".
Ibrahim bin Ishaq (may Allah have mercy on him) asked Ibn Shihab (may Allah have mercy on him) about chess, and he said: It is falsehood, and Allah Almighty dislikes falsehood.
