وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو عُثْمَانَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا حَسْنُونٌ الْبِنَاءُ الْكُوفِيُّ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، ثنا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ جَعْفَرَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْقُرْآنِ فَقَالَ: " كَلَامُ اللهِ "، قُلْتُ: فَمَخْلُوقٌ؟ قَالَ: " لَا "، قُلْتُ: فَمَا تَقُولُ فِيمَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّهُ مَخْلُوقٌ؟ قَالَ: " يُقْتَلُ وَلَا يُسْتَتَابُ ".
Qays bin al-Rabi' (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I asked Ja'far bin Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him) about the Qur'an, and he said: It is the speech of Allah. I said: Is it created? He said: No. I said: What is your view about one who says it is created? He said: He should be killed, and he should not even be asked to repent.
