أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا أَبُو أُمَيَّةَ الطَّرَسُوسِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ خَلَفٍ الْمُقْرِئُ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ عِنْدَ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، فَجَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: مَا تَقُولُ فِيمَنْ يَقُولُ: الْقُرْآنُ مَخْلُوقٌ؟ قَالَ: " عِنْدِي كَافِرٌ، فَاقْتُلُوهُ "، وَقَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ خَلَفٍ: فَسَأَلْتُ اللَّيْثَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ، وَابْنَ لَهِيعَةَ عَمَّنْ قَالَ: الْقُرْآنُ مَخْلُوقٌ؟ فَقَالَا: " كَافِرٌ ".
Yahya bin Khalaf al-Muqri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I was with Malik bin Anas (may Allah have mercy on him) when a man came and said: What is your view about one who says the Qur'an is created? He said: In my view he is a disbeliever; kill him.
(b) Yahya bin Khalaf (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I asked al-Layth bin Sa'd and Ibn Lahi'ah (may Allah have mercy on them both): What is the ruling on one who says the Qur'an is created? They both said: He is a disbeliever.
