وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْفَحَّامُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا الْبَرَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْقَاصُّ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ شَقِيقٍ الْعُقَيْلِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِشِرِارِ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ؟ الثَّرْثَارُونَ الْمُتَشَدِّقُونَ الْمُتَفَيْهِقُونَ، أَوَلَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِخِيَارِهِمْ؟ أَحَاسِنُهُمْ أَخْلَاقًا ".
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates a marfu' hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you about the worst people of this Ummah?" Then he said: "Those who talk with their mouths stretched wide and exaggerate their speech. Shall I not inform you of the best of them?" Then he said: "They are those who possess the best character."
