Ammar bin Sa'd narrates from his father, Sa'd al-Qaraz (may Allah be pleased with him), that he heard the adhan and iqamah of Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him), which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had ordered him to give, and it is as follows:
"'Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar' (Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest), 'Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah, ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah' (I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, I bear witness that there is no god but Allah), 'Ash-hadu anna Muhammadan rasulullah, ash-hadu anna Muhammadan rasulullah' (I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah); then he says again: 'Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah, ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah' (I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, I bear witness that there is no god but Allah), 'Ash-hadu anna Muhammadan rasulullah, ash-hadu anna Muhammadan rasulullah' (I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah); 'Hayya 'alas-salah, hayya 'alas-salah' (Come to the prayer, come to the prayer), 'Hayya 'alal-falah, hayya 'alal-falah' (Come to success, come to success), 'Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar' (Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest), 'La ilaha illallah' (There is no god but Allah)." And he would say the iqamah once each, and 'Qad qamatis-salah' (The prayer has begun) also once.
