Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: So-and-so has trees in my garden, and he troubles me and it is burdensome for me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent for him and said: "Sell me the trees you have in so-and-so's garden." He refused. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Gift them to me." He refused that too. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sell them to me in exchange for trees in Paradise." He refused again. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have not seen anyone more miserly than you, except the one who is miserly with giving the greeting of salam."
