Bayhaqi 10251 — A voluntary sacrificial animal that is driven

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that Dhu'ayb al-Khuza'i (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to him that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a sacrificial camel with him and ordered: "If it is about to perish, slaughter it, dye its sandal in its blood and place it on its neck; neither you yourself nor those with you are to eat anything from it, and distribute it."
Abd al-A'la bin Abd al-A'la (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates it from Sa'id bin Abi Arubah (may Allah have mercy on him), but in his version the words «an yaqsimaha» (and that he distribute it) are not present.
