أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَخْتَوَيْهِ، ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ أَسْلَمَ، يَقُولُ: وَأِيُّ كَلْبٍ أَعْقَرُ مِنَ الْحَيَّةِ؟، قَالَ الْحُمَيْدِيُّ: " كُلُّ شَيْءٍ يَعْقِرُكَ فَهُوَ الْعَقُورُ ".
Sufyan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I heard Zayd bin Aslam (may Allah have mercy on him) saying: Which dog bites more viciously than the snake? Al-Humaydi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Everything that bites you is 'aqur (a biter).
