Yusuf bin Mahik and Mansur (may Allah have mercy on them both) narrate from Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) that a man shut the door of a room on a pigeon and its two chicks, then went off himself to Arafat and Mina. When he returned, they had died. He came to Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and mentioned it to him, and Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), together with another man, imposed three sheep on him as a penalty (fidyah).
