The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For five camels there is one goat, for ten two goats, for fifteen three goats, for twenty four goats, and for twenty-five a one-year-old she-camel (bint makhad), up to thirty-five. Then if there is one more, there is a two-year-old she-camel (bint labun), up to forty-five. Then if there is one more, there is a three-year-old she-camel (hiqqah), up to sixty. Then if there is one more, there is a four-year-old she-camel (jadha'ah), up to seventy-five. Then if there is one more, there are two bint labun, up to ninety. Then if there is one more, there are two hiqqahs, up to one hundred and twenty. Then if the camels are more than that, for every fifty there is one hiqqah and for every forty one bint labun. So if they reach one hundred and twenty-one, there are three bint labun, up to one hundred and twenty-nine. Then if they reach one hundred and thirty, there are two bint labun and one hiqqah, up to one hundred and thirty-nine. Then if they reach one hundred and forty, there are two hiqqahs and one bint labun, up to one hundred and forty-nine. Then if they reach one hundred and fifty, there are three hiqqahs, up to one hundred and fifty-nine. Then if they reach one hundred and sixty, there are four bint labun, up to one hundred and sixty-nine. Then if they reach one hundred and seventy, there are three bint labun and one hiqqah, up to one hundred and seventy-nine. Then if they reach one hundred and eighty, there are two hiqqahs and two bint labun, up to one hundred and eighty-nine. Then if they reach one hundred and ninety, there are three hiqqahs and one bint labun, up to one hundred and ninety-nine. Then if they reach two hundred, there are four hiqqahs or five bint labun; whichever age of camel is available, that will be taken. And for grazing sheep and goats, for every forty there is one goat, up to one hundred and twenty. Then if there is one more, there are two goats, up to two hundred. Then if they exceed two hundred, there are three goats, up to three hundred. Then if the goats are more than that, for every hundred there is one goat. For fewer than one hundred there is nothing until they reach one hundred. And for fear of the charity, combined property is not to be separated and separate property is not to be combined; and whatever belongs to two partners, they shall settle the zakah between themselves equally. And in charity no decrepit animal is to be taken, nor a defective goat, nor the breeding he-goat of the flock, unless the zakah collector himself wishes."
