«إياكم ومحقرات الذنوب فإنهن يجتمعن على الرجل حتى يهلكنه كرجل كان بأرض فلاة فحضر صنيع القوم فجعل الرجل يجيء بالعود والرجل يجيء بالعود حتى جمعوا من ذلك سوادا وأججوا نارا فأنضجوا ما فيها»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Beware of regarding sins as minor and trivial, for they keep accumulating upon a man until they destroy him. Their example is like a man who was in a barren desert; then the time came for the people to cook their food, so one man began bringing a stick and another man began bringing a stick, until they gathered a heap from it and kindled a fire, then cooked whatever was in it."
