«إياكم وهاتين البقلتين المنتنتين أن تأكلوهن وتدخلوا مساجدنا فإن كنتم لا بد آكليهما فاقتلوهما بالنار قتلا»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Beware of eating these two foul-smelling plants (that is, raw garlic and onion) and then entering our mosques. And if you must eat them, then cook them over fire to kill their smell."
