«إن اليوم يوم عاشوراء فمن أكل فلا يأكل شيئا بقية يومه ومن لم يكن أكل أو شرب فليصم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, today is the day of Ashura. So whoever has eaten something should not eat anything for the rest of the day, and whoever has not eaten or drunk anything should complete the fast."
