أخبرنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب الحافظ، حدثنا يحيى بن محمد بن يحيى، حدثنا مُسدَّد، حدثنا عبد الأعلى بن عبد الأعلى، حدثنا داود بن أبي هِنْد، عن عبد الله بن قيس قال: كنت أرفعُ القضاءَ إلى أبي بُرْدةَ، فكنت عنده فدخل عليه الحارثُ بنُ أُقيشٍ (1)، وكانت له صُحْبة، فحَدَّث ليلتَئذٍ عن النبي ﷺ قال: "ما من مُسلمين (2) يموت لهما أربعةٌ، إلَّا أدخلهم الله الجنةَ بفَضْل رحمتِه إيَّاهما قلنا: يا رسول الله، وثلاثةٌ؟ قال: "وثلاثةٌ" قلنا: يا رسول الله، واثنانِ؟ قال: "واثنانِ" ثم قال: "إنَّ من أمَّتي لَمَن يُعظَّم للنّار حتى يكونَ أحدَ زواياها، وإنَّ من أمتي لَمَن يَدخُل بشفاعتِه الجنةَ أكثرُ من مُضَرَ" (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Qays; he said: I used to take cases (for judgment) to Abu Burdah. One day I was with him when Sayyiduna al-Harith bin Uqaysh (may Allah be pleased with him) came to him, and he had the honour of companionship (with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)). That night he narrated this hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are no two Muslims whose four children die, except that Allah, out of the bounty of His mercy, will admit them both into Paradise." We said: O Messenger of Allah! And if there are three? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Even if there are three." We said: O Messenger of Allah! And if there are two? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Even if there are two." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, among my Ummah there will be someone (disobedient) who will be made so large for Hell that he will become one of its corners; and indeed, among my Ummah there will also be a man through whose intercession more people than (the tribe of) Mudar will enter Paradise."

حدثنا علي بن حَمْشَاذَ العَدْل، حدثنا محمد بن مَندَهْ الأصبهاني، حدثنا بكر بن بكَّار، حدثنا جَسْر (4) بن فَرقَد حدثنا الحسن، عن أنس بن مالك قال: سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول: "ناركم هذه جزءٌ من سبعين جزءًا من نار جهنَّم، ولولا أنها غُمِسَت في الماء مرَّتين ما استمتعتُم بها، وايْمُ الله إن كانت لكافيةً، وإنها لَتدعُو الله وتستجيرُ الله أن لا يعيدَها في النار أبدًا" (5).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه بهذه السَّياقة.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "This fire of yours (of the world) is one part of seventy parts of the fire of Hell. Had it not been quenched in water twice, you would not have been able to benefit from it. And by Allah! Even though this (former state) alone would have been sufficient, it still supplicates to Allah and seeks His refuge that He never return it into that (fire of Hell)."

حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا بَحْر بن نَصْر، حدثنا عبد الله بن وَهْب، حدثني عمرو بن الحارث، عن دَرَّاج أبي السَّمْح، أنه سمع عبد الله بن الحارث بن جَزْءٍ الزُّبَيدي، صاحبَ النبي ﷺ، يقول عن رسول الله ﷺ: "إنَّ في النار لحيّاتٍ مثلَ أعناق البُخْت، يَلسَعَن أحدَهم اللَّسعةَ فيجدُ حَمْوَها أربعين خريفًا" (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Harith bin Jaz' al-Zubaydi (may Allah be pleased with him), the Companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who relates from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, in Hell there will be snakes like the necks of Bactrian (Khurasani) camels (thick and long). When one of these snakes bites someone (of the people of Hell) once, he will feel its burning and pain for forty years."

حدثنا أبو أحمد بكر بن محمد الصَّيرَفي بمَرْو، حدثنا أبو قِلابةَ، حدثنا بِشْر بن عُمر (2) الزهراني، حدثنا شعبة، عن سليمان، عن عبد الله بن مُرَّة، عن مسروق، عن عبد الله في قول الله ﷿ ﴿زِدْنَاهُمْ عَذَابًا فَوْقَ الْعَذَابِ﴾ [النحل:88]، قال: عقاربُ أنيابُها كالنخل الطِّوال (3).

It is narrated from Masruq that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said concerning this saying of Allah Almighty: "We will increase them in punishment upon punishment." [Surah al-Nahl: 88]: "(This punishment refers to) scorpions whose stings will be like tall date-palms."
