The strongholds are three

It is narrated from Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "Indeed, the places of refuge are three: on the day of the great battles (al-malahim), the refuge of the people will be Damascus; on the day of the Dajjal, the refuge of the people will be the river of Abu Futrus (and among the people there are some who say that it refers to Bayt al-Maqdis); and on the day of Gog and Magog (Ya'juj and Ma'juj), their refuge will be Mount Sinai."

Sayyiduna Jubayr bin Nufayr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "If you are given a choice between different lands (as to where to settle), do not choose Armenia, for in it there is a portion of Allah's punishment."

It is narrated from Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "Al-Jazirah (the region between Iraq and Sham) is safe from ruin until Armenia is ruined; Egypt is safe from ruin until al-Jazirah is ruined; Kufah is safe from ruin until Egypt is ruined; the great battle (al-malhamah) will not take place until Kufah is ruined; the city of disbelief will not be conquered until the great battle takes place; and the Dajjal will not emerge until the city of disbelief is conquered."

It is narrated from Sa'id bin al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) that he used to say: "Nuh (peace be upon him) had three sons: Sam, Ham and Yafith. From the descendants of Sam are the Arabs, the Persians and the Romans, and in all of them there is goodness. From the descendants of Ham are the Sudan (black peoples), the Berbers and the Copts. And from the descendants of Yafith are the Turks, the Saqalibah (Slavs) and Gog and Magog (Ya'juj and Ma'juj)."
