It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him): "O Ka'b, may Allah protect you from the rule of the foolish." He said: O Messenger of Allah, what is meant by the rule of the foolish? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There will be rulers after me who will neither follow my guidance nor adhere to my Sunnah. Whoever affirms them in their lies and helps them in their oppression, such people are not of me and I am not of them, and they will not come to me at my Pond. And whoever does not affirm them in their lies nor help them in their oppression, those people are of me and I am of them, and they will certainly come to me at my Pond. O Ka'b bin Ujrah, fasting is a shield, charity extinguishes sins, and prayer is a means of nearness to Allah (or he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: a proof). O Ka'b bin Ujrah, flesh that has grown from unlawful wealth (suht) will never enter Paradise; the Fire is more fitting for it. O Ka'b bin Ujrah, people are of two kinds: one who strikes a bargain for his soul and frees it (through obedience to Allah), and the other who sells his soul (into the hands of Satan) and destroys it."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik al-Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) during the Battle of Tabuk, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was seated in a small leather tent. I passed by, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) heard my voice and said: "O Awf bin Malik, come in." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, all of me or part of me?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Rather, come in, all of you." He said: So I entered, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Awf, count six things before the Hour." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, what are they?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The death of the Messenger of Allah." Hearing this, Sayyiduna Awf began to weep. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Say: one." I said: "One." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The conquest of Bayt al-Maqdis; say: two." I said: "Two." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And a death that will spread in my Ummah as 'qu'as', that is, neck-breaking fever, spreads among sheep; say: three." I said: "Three." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And the wealth of the world will be opened up for the people, until a man will be given a hundred dinars and will be displeased with it, considering it little; say: four." I said: "Four." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And there will be a trial that will leave no house of the Muslims that it does not enter; say: five." I said: "Five." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And there will be a truce between you and Banu al-Asfar, that is, the Romans; then they will come to you under eighty (80) banners, with twelve thousand soldiers under each banner; then they will betray you, even concerning the child in a pregnant woman's womb." The narrator said: When the year of the plague of Amwas came, Awf bin Malik said to Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had said to me: Count six things before the Hour; three of them have occurred and three remain. Sayyiduna Mu'adh said: There is an appointed term for them, but five trials have overshadowed you; whoever lives to see any of them and is able to die, let him die: the spread of cursing one another from the pulpits; the wealth of Allah, that is, state stipends, being given out on the basis of lies and slander; the shedding of blood unjustly; the severing of ties of kinship; and a man waking up in the morning not knowing whether he is rightly guided or astray.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it with this wording.
