أخبرنا محمد بن أحمد بن تَميم (3) القَنْطري، حدثنا أبو قِلابة، حدثنا أبو عاصم، أخبرنا ابن جُرَيج عن عمرو بن دينار، عن جابر بن زيد وعِكْرمة، عن ابن عباس في رجلٍ ذبح ونَسِيَ أن يُسمِّي، قال: يأكلُ، وفي المَجُوسيِّ يذبحُ ويُسمِّي، قال: لا يأكلُ (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning a man who slaughters and forgets to say the tasmiyah (the name of Allah): he said: He may eat it. And if a Magian slaughters and also says the tasmiyah (the name of Allah), he said: He should not eat it.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

أخبرني أحمد بن محمد بن سَلَمة العَنَزي، حدثنا معاذ بن نَجْدة (2) القرشي، حدثنا قَبِيصة بن عُقْبة، حدثنا سفيان، عن هارون بن أبي وَكيع -وهو هارون ابن عَنترَة- عن أبيه، عن ابن عباس في قول الله ﷿: ﴿وَلَا تَأْكُلُوا مِمَّا لَمْ يُذْكَرِ اسْمُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ﴾ [الأنعام: 121]، قال: خاصَمَهم المشركون، فقالوا: ما قَتَلُوا أَكلوا، وما قَتلَ اللهُ لم يأكلوا (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "And do not eat of that over which the name of Allah has not been mentioned" [Surah al-An'am: 121]. He said: The polytheists disputed (with the Companions) and said: What you yourselves kill (that is, slaughter) you eat, but what Allah kills (that is, carrion) you do not eat.
This hadith has an authentic chain (sahih al-isnad), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

أخبرني علي بن عيسى الحِيَري، حدثنا إبراهيم بن أبي طالب، حدثنا ابن أبي عمر حدثنا سفيان، حدثنا عمرو بن دينار، قال: سمعتُ صُهيبًا مولى ابن عامر يُخبر، أنَّ عبد الله بن عمرو أخبره عن النبيِّ ﷺ قال: "ما مِن إنسانٍ يقتُلَ عُصفورًا فما فوقَها بغير حقِّها، إلَّا سأله الله ﷿ عنها يومَ القيامة" قيل: يا رسولَ الله، وما حقُّها؟ قال: "حقُّها أن يَذبحَها فيأكلَها (2)، ولا يقطع رأسَها فيَرميَ به" (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any person who kills a sparrow or any creature bigger than it without its right, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will surely question him about it on the Day of Resurrection." It was said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! What is its right? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Its right is that it be slaughtered and eaten, not that its head be cut off and thrown away."
This hadith has an authentic chain (sahih al-isnad), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
