The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to breathe three times while drinking from a vessel

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to breathe three times (outside) the vessel while drinking, and he would say: "This way is more thirst-quenching, more healing from illness and more wholesome (easier to digest)." Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "And I too breathe three times while drinking."
This hadith is sahih (authentic), but they did not record it with this addition (the practice of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) himself); they only recorded, through the narration of Thumamah from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), that "He (peace and blessings be upon him) used to breathe three times in the vessel."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade breathing into the vessel and drinking (directly) from the mouth of a waterskin.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Bukhari, and the two Shaykhs agreed on the hadith of Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) in which breathing into the vessel is forbidden.
