حدثنا أبو بكر أحمد بن سلمان الفقيه، حدثنا يحيى بن جعفر بن الزِّبْرِقان، حدثنا أبو داود الطَّيَالسي، حدثنا أبو عامر الخزَّاز، عن الحسن، عن سعد (1) مولى أبي بكر قال: قرَّبتُ بين يدي النبيِّ ﷺ تمرًا، فجعلوا يَقرِنون، فنهى رسولُ الله ﷺ عن الإقران (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه هكذا.

It is narrated from Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him), the freed slave of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him), that he said: I presented dates to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the people began eating two dates together at a time, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade "iqran" (eating two together).
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it in this way.

Hadith 7310

أخبرني عبد الله بن محمد الصَّيدلاني، حدثنا محمد بن أيوب، أخبرنا يحيى بن المغيرة السَّعْدي، حدثنا جَرير، عن عطاء بن السائب، عن الشَّعبي، عن أبي هريرة قال: كنتُ في الصُّفّة، فبعث النبيُّ ﷺ إلينا بتمرِ عَجْوة، فسُكِبَ (1) بيننا، فكنَّا نَقرِن الثِّنتينِ من الجوع، فكنَّا إذ قَرَنَ أحدُنا قال لأصحابه: إنِّي قد قَرَنتُ فاقرِنُوا (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I was among the People of the Suffah when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent us some Ajwah dates, and they were poured out among us. Out of hunger we began eating two dates together at a time, so whenever one of us ate two together, he would say to his companions: "I have eaten two together, (with your permission) you too eat two at a time."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
