It is narrated from Muhammad bin Umar (al-Waqidi) that in the name of Sayyidah Umaymah bint Ruqayqah, Ruqayqah is the name of her mother. Her father was Abdullah bin Bijad, and her mother, Ruqayqah bint Khuwaylid, was the sister of the Mother of the Believers Sayyidah Khadijah bint Khuwaylid (may Allah be pleased with her). Sayyidah Umaymah took up residence away from her homeland, and she was married to Habib bin Ku'ayb al-Thaqafi, by whom she had children. She lived on after the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and narrated reports from him (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is narrated from Muhammad bin al-Munkadir that Sayyidah Umaymah (may Allah be pleased with her), the maternal aunt of Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), said: We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) took from us the pledge that we would not associate anything with Allah. After that, the narrator mentioned a report similar to the hadith of Ibn Ishaq.
Mention of Sayyidah Barirah (may Allah be pleased with her), the freed slave-woman of Sayyidah Aishah. The two Shaykhs agreed on this hadith of Yazid bin Ruman from Urwah, that Barirah said: Three rulings of the Sunnah came about concerning me: meat was given to me as charity, and I gifted it to Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), and so on (it is a long hadith), in which the wala' and the nine uqiyahs of the mukatabah (freedom contract) are mentioned.
Mention of Layla, the slave-woman of Sayyidah Aishah.
