ذِكْرُ الصَّحَابِيَّاتِ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِ رَسُولِ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَغَيْرِهِنَّ - رَضِيَ اللهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُنَّ - فَأَوَّلُ مَنْ نَبْدَأُ بِهِنَّ الصِّدِّيقَةُ بِنْتُ الصِّدِّيقِ عَائِشَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا -

حدثني أبو جعفر أحمد بن عُبيد بن إبراهيم الأسدي الحافظ بهَمَذان، حَدَّثَنَا إبراهيم بن الحسين بن دِيزِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا أبو مُسهِر عبد الأعلى بن مُسهر، حَدَّثَنَا عبد الله بن عبد الرحمن بن يزيد بن جابر، عن عمِّه يزيد بن يزيد بن جابر، عن أبيه قال: تزوَّج النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عائشةَ ولها سبعُ سنينَ، ودخلَ بها ولها تسعُ سنين، وقُبِضَ عنها ولها ثمانِ عشرةَ سنة، وتوفِّيت زمنَ معاويةَ سنة سبعٍ وخمسين (3).

Yazid bin Yazid bin Jabir narrates from his father that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) when she was seven years old; when she was sent to his home she was nine years old; when he (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away she was eighteen years old; and she herself died in the time of Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), in the year 57 AH.
حدثني أبو بكر محمد بن أحمد بن بالَوَيهِ، حَدَّثَنَا إبراهيم بن إسحاق الحَرْبي، حَدَّثَنَا مصعب بن عبد الله الزُّبيري، حدثني عبد الله بن معاوية، عن هشام ابن عُرْوة: أنَّ عُرْوة كتبَ إلى الوليد بن عبد الملك بن مروان: ونكحَ رسولُ الله ﷺ عند مُتوفَّى خديجةَ عائشةَ، وكان رسولُ الله ﷺ أُرِيَها في المَنام ثلاثَ مِرارٍ، يُقال: هذه امرأتُك عائشة (1). وكانت عائشةُ يومَ نَكَحَها رسولُ الله ﷺ بنتَ ستِّ سنين، ثم بَنَى بها يومَ قَدِمَ المدينةَ وهي بنتُ تسعِ سنين، وماتت عائشةُ أمُّ المؤمنين ليلةَ الثلاثاء بعد صلاةِ الوترِ، ودُفنت من ليلتها بالبقيع لخمسَ عشرة ليلةً خَلَتْ، وصلَّى عليها أبو هريرة، وكان مروانُ غائبًا، وكان أبو هريرة يَخْلُفه (2).
It is narrated from Hisham bin Urwah that Urwah wrote to al-Walid bin Abd al-Malik bin Marwan: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) after the death of Sayyidah Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had been shown her in a dream three times, and it was said (by the angel): "This is your wife Aishah." At the time the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married her, she was six years old; then, when he (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Madinah, she was sent to his home at the age of nine. The Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), died on the night of Tuesday after the Witr prayer, when fifteen nights (of the month of Ramadan) had passed, and she was buried that same night in Jannat al-Baqi'. Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) led her funeral prayer, because Marwan was absent at that time and Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) was acting as his deputy.
