Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 6861

It is narrated from Muhammad bin Umar (al-Waqidi) that the mother of Sayyidah Aishah bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them both) was Umm Ruman bint Umayr bin Amir, who belonged to Banu Duhman bin al-Harith bin Ghanm bin Malik bin Kinanah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married her in the month of Shawwal in the tenth year of Prophethood, three years before the Hijrah, and she was sent to the home of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) eight months after the Hijrah, also in the month of Shawwal; at the time she was sent to his home she was nine years old.
