Virtues of Abu al-Tufayl Amir bin Wathilah al-Kinani (may Allah be pleased with him)

It is narrated from Mus'ab bin Abdullah that Amir bin Wathilah bin Abdullah bin Umayr bin Juhaysh bin Huda bin Sa'd bin Layth (may Allah be pleased with him) was born in the year of the Battle of Uhud and lived through eight years of the blessed life of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He first lived in Kufah, then settled in Makkah until he died there. He was the last of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to pass away, and he died in the year 102 AH.

Sayyiduna Abu al-Tufayl (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I lived through eight years of the blessed life of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and I was born in the year of the Battle of Uhud.

It is narrated from Shabab al-Usfuri that Sayyiduna Abu al-Tufayl Amir bin Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him) died in the year 100 AH.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu al-Tufayl (may Allah be pleased with him) that: I was a young boy carrying a part (of the meat) of a camel, and I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at al-Ji'ranah distributing meat. Meanwhile a woman came to him (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) spread out his cloak for her (out of respect). I asked: "Who is she?" The people said: "She is his (peace and blessings be upon him) mother who nursed him (that is, Sayyidah Halimah al-Sa'diyyah, may Allah be pleased with her)."
(After this) comes the honourable mention of Sayyiduna Suraqah bin Malik bin Ju'shum (may Allah be pleased with him).
