حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا الحسن بن علي بن عفّان العامري، حدثنا قبيصة بن عُقبة، حدثنا سفيان، عن موسى بن أبي عائشة، عن عبد الله بن أبي رَزِين، عن أبي رزين، عن عليٍّ، قال: قلتُ للعباس: سَل النبيَّ ﷺ أن يستعملك على الصدقة، فسأله، فقال: "ما كنتُ لأستَعمِلَك على غُسَالِةِ ذُنُوبِ الناسِ" (1).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Razin narrates from his father Abu Razin, who narrates from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), that he said: I said to Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): Ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to appoint you over (the collection of) charity. So he asked him (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am not going to appoint you over the washings of people's sins (that is, zakah and charities)."

Hadith Takhrij «إسناده ضعيف لجهالة عبد الله بن أبي رزين، وفي متنه نكارة، لأنه يخالف ما ثبت في "صحيح مسلم" (1072) من حديث عبد المطلب بن ربيعة بن الحارث، قال: اجتمع ربيعة بن الحارث والعباس بن عبد المطلب، فقالا: والله لو بعثنا هذين الغلامين - قالا لي وللفضل بن عباس - إلى ...» [ترقيم الرساله 5518] [ترقيم الشركة 5472] [ترقيم العلميه 5430]

Hadith 5519

وبإسناده عن عليٍّ، قال: قلتُ للعباس: سَلْ لنا النبي ﷺ الحِجابةَ، فقال: "أُعطِيكُم ما هو خيرٌ لكم منها، السِّقايةَ تَرْزُؤُكم ولا تَرْزَؤُها" (1). كلا الحديثين صحيحا الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

With the same previous chain, it is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I said to Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): Ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for the gatekeeping (of the Ka'bah) for us. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I give you something better for you than that, namely giving water (to the pilgrims); in it you will spend wealth, and you will not earn from it."
Both of these hadiths have authentic (sahih) chains, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record them.

Hadith 5520

حدثنا علي بن عيسى الحِيري، حدثنا أحمد بن نَجْدة القُرشي، حدثنا سعيد بن منصور، حدثنا إسماعيل بن زكريا، عن الحجّاج بن دينار، عن الحكم، عن حُجَيّة بن عدي، عن علي: أنَّ العباس بن عبد المطلب سأل رسول الله ﷺ عن تعجيل صدقته قبل أن تَحِلَّ، فرخَّص له في ذلك (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

Hujayyah bin Adi narrates from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about paying his charity (zakah) before its due time (in advance), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted him to do so.
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
