حدثنا علي بن عيسى الحِيري، حدثنا أحمد بن نَجْدة القُرشي، حدثنا سعيد بن منصور، حدثنا إسماعيل بن زكريا، عن الحجّاج بن دينار، عن الحكم، عن حُجَيّة بن عدي، عن علي: أنَّ العباس بن عبد المطلب سأل رسول الله ﷺ عن تعجيل صدقته قبل أن تَحِلَّ، فرخَّص له في ذلك (1). هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه. Hujayyah bin Adi narrates from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about paying his charity (zakah) before its due time (in advance), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted him to do so.
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Hakam is Ibn 'Utaybah. وأخرجه أحمد 2 / (822)، وأبو داود (1624)، وابن ماجه (1795)، والترمذي (678) من طرق عن سعيد بن منصور، بهذا الإسناد. Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ahmad [2/ (822)], Abu Dawud (1624), Ibn Majah (1795) and al-Tirmidhi (678) via several routes from Sa'id bin Mansur with this same chain. ويشهد له حديث علي بن أبي طالب عند البيهقي 4/ 111، ورجاله ثقات. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: A supporting report for it is the hadith of 'Ali bin Abi Talib in al-Bayhaqi (4/ 111), and its narrators are thiqah. وحديث أبي رافع عند الدارقطني (2014)، وإسناده ضعيف. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: And the hadith of Abu Rafi' in al-Daraqutni (2014), whose chain is da'if. وحديث عبد الله بن مسعود عند البزار (896)، وإسناده ضعيف أيضًا.
