The final advice of Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him)

It is narrated from Amir bin Abdullah bin al-Zubayr that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), during his illness, made this bequest: that his affair is entrusted to Allah; then he appointed Sayyiduna al-Zubayr bin al-Awwam and his son Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr as his executors, and said that the two of them have full authority in looking after his affairs and in their decisions; and that the daughters of Abdullah shall not be given in marriage without the permission of the two of them, and that in this matter Zaynab (his wife) is not exempt either.

Amr bin Maymun relates that a whole year would pass over Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) without his narrating any hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Then one day he narrated a hadith on the authority of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and a state of sorrow and awe came over him, sweat began to drip from his forehead, and he began to say (out of utmost caution): "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said it like this, or something close to this."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

It is narrated from al-Aswad that he heard Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) say: "My brother and I came from Yemen (to Madinah), and for a long time we kept thinking that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) was a member of the household of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), because we frequently saw him and his mother going in and out of the house of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) without restriction."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.
