Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) surrounded him and were weeping around him, when a man with a reddish beard, of large build and handsome, came in. He stepped over the people's shoulders and came forward. He wept, then turned to the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "Indeed, with Allah there is consolation for every calamity, compensation for everything that is lost, and a replacement for everyone who perishes. So turn to Allah alone and direct your longing to Him alone; He will look upon you with favour in your trial. Know that the truly afflicted one is he who is not granted the reward." Then that man left. The people asked one another: Do you know him? Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Yes, this was the brother of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Khidr (peace be upon him).
This is a supporting narration (shahid) for the previous hadith, even though Abbad bin Abd al-Samad does not meet the condition of this book.

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that during the illness in which he passed away, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "O Aishah, I (continually) feel the pain of the food I ate at Khaybar, and this is the time when my aorta (abhar) is about to be cut by the effect of that poison."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs, and Imam Bukhari has also recorded it.
