حدثنا أبو العبَّاس السَّيّاري وأبو أحمد الصَّيرَفي بمَرُو، قالا: حدثنا إبراهيم بن هلال، حدثنا علي بن الحسن بن شَقيق، سمعت أَبي يقول: أخبرنا الحسين بن واقد، حدثنا الأعمش، عن مجاهد، عن ابن عبَّاس قال: مَن قال: لا إله إلَّا الله، فليقلْ على إثْرها: الحمدُ لله ربِّ العالمين؛ يريد قولَه: ﴿فَادْعُوهُ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ﴾ [غافر: 65] (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: Whoever says 'La ilaha illallah' (There is no god but Allah) should say immediately after it 'Al-hamdu lillahi Rabbil-'alamin' (All praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds). By this he meant this saying of Allah Almighty: "So call upon Him, making religion sincerely His. All praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds." [Surah Ghafir: 65]

حدثني محمد بن صالح بن هانئ، حدثنا السّرِي بن خُزيمة، حدثنا عبد الله بن يزيد المقرئ، حدثنا سعيد بن يزيد عن أبي السَّمْح، عن عيسى بن هلال الصَّدَفي، عن عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "لو أنَّ رصاصةً من هذه مِثلَ هذه - وأشار إلى مثل الجُمجُمة - أُرسِلَت من السماء إلى الأرض، وهي مَسيرةُ خمسِ مئة سنةٍ، لبَلَغَت الأرضَ قبلَ الليل"، وتلا رسولُ الله ﷺ: ﴿إِذِ الْأَغْلَالُ فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ وَالسَّلَاسِلُ يُسْحَبُونَ﴾ الآيات [غافر: 71] (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a ball of lead like this one, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed to something like a skull, were released from the heaven towards the earth, which is a distance of five hundred years, it would reach the earth before nightfall." And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited these verses: "When the iron collars will be around their necks, and the chains; they will be dragged." [Surah Ghafir: 71]
