أخبرني أحمد بن محمد العَنَزي، حدثنا عثمان بن سعيد الدارمي، حدثنا مسلم بن إبراهيم، حدثنا حماد بن سَلَمة، عن أبي الزُّبَير، عن جابر: أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ نَهَى عن بَيع الماء (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه (2). وله شاهد بزيادةٍ في المتن:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of water.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it. It also has a supporting report (shahid) with an addition in its text:

أخبرَناه أبو بكر بن إسحاق الفقيه، أخبرنا إسماعيل بن قُتيبة، حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى، حدثنا داود بن عبد الرحمن المكي، عن عمرو بن دينار، عن أبي المِنْهال، عن إياس بن عبدٍ: أنَّ النبي ﷺ نَهَى عن بيع فَضْل الماء (3).
