أخبرني أحمد بن محمد العَنَزي، حدثنا عثمان بن سعيد الدارمي، حدثنا مسلم بن إبراهيم، حدثنا حماد بن سَلَمة، عن أبي الزُّبَير، عن جابر: أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ نَهَى عن بَيع الماء (1). هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه (2). وله شاهد بزيادةٍ في المتن: [التعليق - من تلخيص الذهبي] ترقيم العلميه 2359 - على شرط مسلم
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of water.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it. It also has a supporting report (shahid) with an addition in its text:

(1) إسناده صحيح. Grading: Its chain is "sahih". وأخرجه أحمد 23/ (14639) و (14842) من طرق عن حماد بن سلمة، به. Reference / Source: Ahmad narrated it via Hammad bin Salamah. وقد تقدم من طريق ابن جُرَيج عن أبي الزُّبَير برقم (2319). Note / Clarification: This narration has already passed at number (2319). ومن طريق عطاء بن أبي رباح عن جابر برقم (2320). Note / Clarification: It is also mentioned at number (2320).
(2) قد أخرجه مسلم كما ذكرنا فيما تقدم، فلا يُستدرك عليه. Note / Clarification: Muslim has already narrated it, as we mentioned earlier, so it cannot be counted as an addition (istidrak) to his collection.
