حدثناه أبو علي الحسين بن علي الحافظ، أخبرنا مِهْران بن هارون الرازي، حدثنا الفضل بن العباس الرازي - وهو فَضْلَكُ الرازي - حدثنا إبراهيم بن محمد بن حَمَّويهِ الرازي، حدثنا سفيان بن عُقْبة أخو قَبيصة، عن حمزة الزيَّات وسفيان الثَّوري، عن زُبَيد، عن مُرَّة، عن عبد الله بن مسعود، عن النبي ﷺ قال: "إِنَّ الله قَسَمَ بينكم أخلاقَكم كما قَسَمَ بينكم أرزاقَكم، وإنَّ الله يعطي المالَ مَن يحبُّ ومن لا يحبّ، ولا يُعطي الإيمانَ إلَّا من يحبُّ، وإذا أَحبَّ اللهُ عبدًا أعطاه الإيمانَ" (1). وأما المتابع الذي ليس من شرط هذا الكتاب، فعبدُ العزيز بن أَبان (2)، والحديث معروفٌ به، فقد صحَّ بمتابعَينِ لعيسى بن يونس، ثم بمتابع للثوري عن زُبيدٍ، وهو حمزة الزيَّات.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has distributed your characters among you just as He has distributed your provisions among you. And Allah Almighty certainly gives wealth both to the one He loves and to the one He does not love, but He gives faith only to the one He loves; so when Allah loves a servant, He grants him faith."
As for the corroborating narrator who is not on the condition of this book, he is Abd al-Aziz bin Aban, and this hadith is well known through him. Thus the hadith is established through two corroborators of Isa bin Yunus, and through one corroborator of al-Thawri, Hamzah al-Zayyat.

(1) صحيح موقوفًا كسابقه، وهذا إسناد فيه من لم نقف له على ترجمة ولم نعرف حاله، وهما: مهران بن هارون وإبراهيم بن محمد بن حمّويه الرازيان.
Grading: Like the previous narration, this too is sahih as "mawquf".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In this chain there are two narrators whose biographies (tarjamah) and status could not be found: Mihran bin Harun and Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Hammawayh, both of Rayy.
وأخرجه البيهقي في "شعب الإيمان" (599) عن أبي عبد الله الحاكم، بهذا الإسناد. وسقط من إسناده في المطبوع الفضل بن العباس وإبراهيم بن محمد بن حمويه.
Reference / Source: Imam al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "Shu'ab al-Iman" (599) from Abu Abd Allah al-Hakim with this chain.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the printed edition the names of al-Fadl bin al-Abbas and Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Hammawayh have dropped out of this chain.
(2) وهو متروك الحديث، ومثله لا يُعتبر به.
Grading: This narrator is "matruk al-hadith" (abandoned), and the narration of someone like him cannot be adduced even as supporting evidence (i'tibar).
