أخبرَناه أبو بكر محمد بن المؤمَّل، حدثنا الفضل بن محمد الشَّعْراني، حدثنا النُّفَيلي، حدثنا زهير، حدثنا أبو إسحاق، عن التَّميمي الذي يحدِّث بالتفسير عن ابن عباس قال: أتيتُ النبيَّ ﷺ من خلفِه فرأيت بياضَ إبْطَيهِ وهو مُجَخٍّ قد فرَّج يديه (2).
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from behind and saw the whiteness of his (peace and blessings be upon him) armpits, while he was in prostration with his arms spread out.

(2) صحيح لغيره وهذا إسناد محتمل للتحسين، فأربدة التميمي - وإن انفرد بالرواية عنه أبو إسحاق السَّبيعي - كان يجالس ابنَ عباس والبراءَ بن عازب، وروى عن ابن عباس جملةً من التفسير كثيرة، ووثقه العجلي، وذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات"، واحتمل الناس حديثه كما قال ابن البَرقي، ثم إنه قد توبع، ولحديثه هذا شواهد تقوِّيه، منها الحديث السابق.
Grading: (2) It is "sahih li-ghayrihi", and this chain may be considered "hasan". Although Abu Ishaq al-Sabi'i is the only one who narrates from Arbadah al-Tamimi, Arbadah used to sit in the gatherings of senior Companions, and al-'Ijli declared him thiqah. There are several supporting reports for this hadith.
النفيلي: عبد الله ابن محمد، وزهير: هو ابن معاوية.
Technical note: Al-Nufayli refers to Abd Allah bin Muhammad, and Zuhayr refers to Ibn Mu'awiyah.
وأخرجه أبو داود (899) عن النفيلي، بهذا الإسناد.

وأخرجه أحمد 4/ (2405) عن حسن بن موسى، عن زهير، به.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ahmad 4/ (2405) through Hasan bin Musa from Zuhayr.
وأخرجه أحمد أيضًا 4/ (2662) و (2753) و (2781) و 5/ (3197) من طرق عن أبي إسحاق، به.
Reference / Source: Ahmad also narrated it through various routes from Abu Ishaq.
وأخرجه بنحوه أحمد 3/ (2073) من طريق ابن أبي ذئب، عن شعبة مولى ابن عباس، عن ابن عباس.
Reference / Source: Ahmad 3/ (2073) narrated it with similar meaning through Ibn Abi Dhi'b from Shu'bah, the freedman of Ibn Abbas.
وفي الباب عن عبد الله بن بُحينة قال: كان النبي ﷺ إذا سجد فرَّج بين يديه حتى يبدو بياض إبطيه. أخرجه البخاري (390) ومسلم (495).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Abd Allah bin Buhaynah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "In prostration he (peace and blessings be upon him) would hold his arms so far apart that the whiteness of his armpits could be seen" (al-Bukhari 390, Muslim 495).
