حدثنا أبو زكريا يحيى بن محمد العَنبَري، حدثنا محمد بن عمرو بن النَّضْر الحَرَشي، حدثنا إبراهيم بن نَصْر السُّورِيني. وأخبرنا أبو محمد عبد الله بن محمد الصَّيدَلاني، حدثنا محمد بن أيوب، أخبرنا يحيى بن المغيرة وأحمد بن منصور؛ قالوا: حدثنا النَّضْر بن شُمَيل، حدثنا يونس بن أبي إسحاق، عن أبي إسحاق، عن البَرَاء بن عازِب قال: كان رسول الله ﷺ إذا صلَّى جَخَّ (1). سمعت أبا زكريا العَنبَري يقول: جَخَّ الرجلُ في صلاته: إذا مَدَّ ضَبْعَيه ويُجافي في الركوع والسجود.
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه، وهو أحدُ ما يُعَدُّ في أفراد النَّضْر بن شُمَيل (1). وقد حدَّث به زهيرُ بن معاوية عن أبي إسحاق عن أَزْبِدةَ التميمي عن البراء عن ابن عبَّاس:

هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه، وهو أحدُ ما يُعَدُّ في أفراد النَّضْر بن شُمَيل (1). وقد حدَّث به زهيرُ بن معاوية عن أبي إسحاق عن أَزْبِدةَ التميمي عن البراء عن ابن عبَّاس:

Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed, he would do 'jakhkh'. Abu Zakariyya al-Anbari says that it means keeping the elbows away from the sides and spreading the arms out in prostration and bowing.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs, but they did not record it. It is among the narrations that al-Nadr bin Shumayl alone reported.

Grading: (1) The hadith is sahih, and this chain is "hasan" on account of Yunus bin Abi Ishaq.
وأخرجه النسائي (696) عن عبدة بن عبد الرحيم، عن النضر بن شميل، بهذا الإسناد. وصحَّحه ابن خزيمة (647).
Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Nasa'i (696) by way of al-Nadr bin Shumayl, and Ibn Khuzaymah declared it sahih.
وأخرج أحمد 30/ (18701)، وأبو داود (896)، والنسائي (695) من طريق شريك النخعي، عن أبي إسحاق، عن البراء: أنه وصف السجود قال: فبَسَط كفَّيه ورفع عَجِيزتَه وخوَّى، وقال: هكذا سجد النبي ﷺ. واللفظ لأحمد، وخوَّى بمعنى: جخَّ، أي: باعَدَ مرفقيه وعَضُدية عن جنبيه. وشريك حسن الحديث في المتابعات والشواهد.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ahmad 30/ (18701), Abu Dawud (896) and al-Nasa'i by way of Sharik al-Nakha'i as the description given by al-Bara' (may Allah be pleased with him): "He (peace and blessings be upon him) spread his palms, raised his hips and kept his arms apart from his sides (khawwa)." Sharik's hadith is hasan in (the context of) supporting reports.
(1) لم ينفرد به النضر، فقد تابعه عليه عن يونسَ هارونُ بن عمران الأنصاري عند الرُّوياني في "مسنده" (299)، والحسنُ بن قتيبة عند ابن الأعرابي في "معجمه" (464)، لكن الحسن بن قتيبة متروك، أمّا هارون بن عمران فلا بأس به كان فقيهًا مفتيًا.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Al-Nadr bin Shumayl is not alone in this: Harun bin 'Imran and al-Hasan bin Qutaybah also corroborated him, but al-Hasan bin Qutaybah is matruk (abandoned), whereas Harun was a jurist narrator in whom there is no harm.
