حدثني محمد بن صالح بن هانئ، حدثنا الحسين بن الفضل البَجَلي، حدثنا سليمان بن حَرْب، حدثنا حماد بن سَلَمة، حدثنا أبو جعفر الخَطْمي، عن عُمارة ابن خُزَيمة بن ثابت قال: كنا مع عمرو بن العاص في حجٍّ أو عُمرةٍ، فلما كنا بمَرِّ الظَّهْرانِ إذا نحن بامرأة في هَودجِها واضعةً يدَها على هَودجِها، فلما نَزَلَ الشِّعبَ إذا نحن بغِرْبانٍ كثيرةٍ فيها غُرابٌ أعصمُ (2) أحمرُ المِنقار والرِّجلين، فقال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "لا يدخلُ الجنةَ من النساء إلَّا مثل هذا الغُراب في هذه الغِرْبان" (3).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Umarah bin Khuzaymah bin Thabit; he said: We were with Sayyiduna Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) on a journey for Hajj or Umrah. When we reached Marr al-Zahran, we saw a woman in her howdah (camel litter) with her hand resting on the howdah. Then, when we descended into a mountain pass, we saw many crows there, among which was a piebald crow with a red beak and red legs. So Sayyiduna Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of the women will enter Paradise except the one whose likeness is like this piebald crow among these (black) crows."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

(2) لفظ "أعصم" ليس في (ز) و (ب)، وتحرّف في (ك) إلى: أعظم، وفي (م) إلى: عظيم، والتصويب من "تلخيص الذهبي".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (2) The word "أعصم" is not in manuscripts (Z) and (B); in manuscript (K) it has been corrupted into "أعظم" and in manuscript (M) into "عظيم"; the correction is from al-Dhahabi's "Talkhis".
والأعصم: هو الأبيض الجناحين، وقيل: الأبيض الرّجلين. قال ابن الأثير في "النهاية": أراد قلّة من يدخل الجنة من النساء، لأنَّ هذا الوصف في الغربان عزيز قليل.
Note / Clarification: "Al-a'sam" is (the crow) whose two wings are white, and it has been said: whose two legs are white. Ibn al-Athir said in "al-Nihayah": "What is meant is the small number of women who will enter Paradise, because this trait is rare and scarce among crows."
(3) إسناده صحيح أبو جعفر الخطمي: هو عمير بن يزيد بن عمير الأنصاري.
Grading: (3) Its chain is sahih. Abu Ja'far al-Khatmi is 'Umayr bin Yazid bin 'Umayr al-Ansari.
وأخرجه أحمد 29 / (17826)، والنسائي (9223) من طريق سليمان بن حرب، بهذ الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ahmad 29/ (17826) and al-Nasa'i (9223) narrated it by way of Sulayman bin Harb, with this chain.
وقرن أحمد بسليمان الحسنَ بنَ موسى الأشيب.
Details of the narration: Ahmad paired al-Hasan bin Musa al-Ashyab with Sulayman (in the chain).
وأخرجه أحمد أيضًا (17770) عن عبد الصمد بن عبد الوارث، عن حماد بن سلمة، به.
