It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said to Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him): Do you not seek for your guests the comforts that other men seek for their guests? He replied: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Ahead of you is a very hard and difficult mountain pass, which those weighed down by burdens will not be able to cross." So I love to keep my burden light for crossing that pass.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
