Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let those of you who learn (the method of prayer) from me be close to me (in the first row)."
Imam al-Hakim says that the two Shaykhs mentioned only that those of intellect and understanding should be close to him, whereas this addition is narrated with an authentic chain on their condition.
