It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "How can I live at ease when the one of the Trumpet has taken the Trumpet into his mouth, bowed his forehead and inclined his ear, waiting for when he will be commanded so that he blows the Trumpet!" We said: O Messenger of Allah! What should we say? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Say: 'Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal-wakil, tawakkalna 'ala Allah' (Allah is sufficient for us and He is the best Disposer of affairs; in Allah we have put our trust)."
We have not written this hadith through al-A'mash from Abu Salih from Abu Sa'id by any route other than this chain, and were it not for Abu Yahya al-Taymi being in its chain, I would have judged this hadith to be sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This hadith is sahih, if Allah wills, although this present chain is weak on account of Isma'il Abu Yahya al-Taymi. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Dhahabi in "al-Talkhis" declared it defective for this very reason and called it feeble. We have not found this hadith by this route (of Isma'il) with anyone other than the author; however, he is corroborated in this hadith. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Thus Ibn Hibban (823) narrated it via 'Uthman bin Abi Shaybah, from Jarir bin 'Abd al-Hamid, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih. Technical note / Defect ('illah): This chain is sahih provided that it is preserved (mahfuz) thus from al-A'mash, for there has been disagreement in transmitting it from al-A'mash. Thus it has (at times) been narrated via al-A'mash, from 'Atiyyah al-'Awfi, from Abu Sa'id, as passed in the previous hadith with Ahmad and others. (11016). Details of the narration: And Musa bin A'yan also narrated it from al-A'mash, as in Ishaq bin Rahwayh's "Musnad" (538) and al-Nasa'i (11016). Details of the narration: (In Musa bin A'yan's narration it is) from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) (i.e. the Companion's name changed). Details of the narration: And Abu al-Ahwas Sallam bin Sulaym also narrated it from al-A'mash, as in Ibn Rahwayh (539), (but) from Abu Salih directly from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as "mursal". Important point: So this hadith is "mahfuz" (preserved) through the narration of al-A'mash from Abu Salih. And Abu Salih (whose name is Dhakwan al-Samman) is among the trustworthy and firm (thiqah thabt) narrators and was counted among the senior scholars of Madinah; he is well known for narrating from both Abu Sa'id al-Khudri and Abu Hurayrah. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Therefore (the conclusion is that) al-A'mash has two shaykhs (teachers) for this hadith: 'Atiyyah al-'Awfi and Abu Salih. After that, the disagreement over the name of the Companion (Abu Sa'id or Abu Hurayrah) does not harm the soundness of the hadith. As for the mursal narration of Abu al-Ahwas, perhaps when he saw al-A'mash's inconsistency in naming the Companion he took the more cautious course and narrated it as mursal. And Allah the Exalted knows best.
