حدَّثناه محمدُ بن صالح بن هانئ، حدثنا السَّرِي بن خُزيمة، حدثنا موسى بن إسماعيل، حدثنا حماد سَلَمة، حدثنا خالد، عن عبد الله بن شقيق، عن عبد الله بن سُرَاقة، عن أبي عُبيدة بن الجرّاح قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "إنه لم يكن نبيٌّ بعد نوحِ إلَّا وقد أنذَرَ أمّتَه الدجالَ، وإني أُنذِرُكُموه"، فَوَصَفَه لنا رسولُ الله ﷺ قال: "إنكم ستُدركونه أو سيدركُه بعضُ من رآني وسَمِع منِّي" قلنا: يا رسول الله، قلوبُنا يومئذٍ كما هي اليومَ؟ قال: "أو خيرٌ" (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah bin al-Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There has been no prophet after Nuh (peace be upon him) who did not warn his nation about the Dajjal, and I too warn you about him." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) described him to us and said: "You will find him, or someone who has seen me and heard from me will find him." We said: O Messenger of Allah! Will our hearts on that day be (in faith and steadfastness) as they are today? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Rather, they will be even better than that."

(1) أوله صحيح لغيره، وإسناده ضعيف كسابقه.
Grading: The opening part of this hadith is 'sahih li-ghayrihi', while its chain in itself is weak, like the previous narration.
وأخرجه أبو داود (4756) عن موسى بن إسماعيل التبوذكي، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Abu Dawud (4756) narrated it from Musa bin Isma'il al-Tabudhaki, with this same chain.
وأخرجه أحمد 3/ (1693)، والترمذي (2234)، وابن حبان ((6778) من طرق عن حماد بن سلمة، به. وقال الترمذي: هذا حديث حسن غريب.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad [3/(1693)], al-Tirmidhi (2234) and Ibn Hibban (6778) narrated it by various routes from Hammad bin Salamah. Imam al-Tirmidhi said: This hadith is hasan gharib.
ويشهد لأوله حديث أنس بن مالك عند البخاري (7131) ومسلم (2933)، ولفظه: "ما بُعث نبي إلّا أنذر أمتَه الأعورَ الكذاب".
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Its opening part is supported by the hadith of Anas bin Malik in al-Bukhari (7131) and Muslim (2933), whose wording is: "No prophet was sent but that he warned his community of the one-eyed liar (the Dajjal)."
وحديث سعد بن أبي وقاص عن أحمد 3/ (1526) وغيره، ولفظه: "إنه لم يكن نبي إلَّا وصف الدجالَ لأمته".
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Also the hadith of Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas in Musnad Ahmad [3/(1526)] and elsewhere supports it, whose wording is: "There was no prophet but that he described the Dajjal to his community."
