It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Dajjal will emerge from here, or from here, or from here; rather, he will emerge from here"; (the narrator says that) he (peace and blessings be upon him) meant the east.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: The hadith is sahih, and this chain is "hasan" on account of 'Amr bin Abi Qays and Bilal bin Abi Hurayrah. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Three narrators narrated from Bilal, as mentioned in his biography in Ibn 'Asakir's "Tarikh Dimashq", and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in "al-Thiqat". Reference / Source: Ibn Hibban narrated it in his "Sahih" (6792), and by way of him Ibn 'Asakir (10/521), by way of Muhammad bin Muslim bin Warah from Muhammad bin Sa'id bin Sabiq, with this same chain. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Something similar was narrated by al-Muharrar bin Abi Hurayrah from his father, in Musnad Ahmad at the end of the hadith of Fatimah bint Qays (45/27101), and by al-Bazzar (8801), by way of Mujalid bin Sa'id from 'Amir al-Sha'bi from him (al-Muharrar). Technical note / Defect ('illah): And (the narrator) Mujalid is not strong. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The preceding hadith of Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) is a "shahid" (supporting report) for it.
