Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 8819

أخبرناه أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب الحافظ، حدثنا يحيى بن محمد بن يحيى، حدثنا مُسدَّد، حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد، حدثنا سفيان. وأخبرنا أحمد بن جعفر القَطيعي، حدثنا حدثنا عبد الله بن أحمد بن حنبل، حدثني أَبي، حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مَهْدي، عن سفيان، عن سِمَاك، حدثني عبد الله بن ظالم قال: سمعت أبا هريرة يقول: سمعت أبا القاسم ﷺ يقول: "إنَّ فسادَ أمتي على يَدَي أُغيلمَةٍ سفهاءَ من قُريش" (2). فسمعت أبا عبد الله محمدَ بنَ يعقوب يقول: سمعت الحسين بن محمد القَبّاني يقول: سمعت عمرو بن علي يقول: الصحيحُ مالكُ بن ظالم.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The corruption of my Ummah will be at the hands of some foolish young boys of Quraysh."
Amr bin Ali says that the correct name (of the narrator) is Malik bin Zalim.

(2) حديث صحيح كسابقه. وهو في "مسند أحمد" 13 / (8033) عن عبد الرحمن بن مهدي، بهذا الإسناد.
Grading: The hadith is "sahih", like the one before it.
Reference / Source: It is in "Musnad Ahmad" (13/8033) by way of 'Abd al-Rahman bin Mahdi, with this same chain.
وقد سلف عند المصنف برقم (8656) من طريق الحسين بن حفص عن سفيان الثوري، وسمّى راويه عن أبي هريرة مالكَ بنَ ظالم، وهو الصحيح كما قال عمرو بن علي الفلّاس.
Reference / Source: It has already appeared with the author (al-Hakim) under no. (8656) by way of al-Husayn bin Hafs from Sufyan al-Thawri.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): There he named the narrator who narrates from Abu Hurayrah as "Malik bin Zalim", and this is correct, as 'Amr bin 'Ali al-Fallas said.
يحيى بن سعيد الراوي عن سفيان: هو القطّان.
