Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was the lightest (briefest) of people in prayer while keeping it complete. I prayed with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he would stand up as soon as he said the salam. Then I prayed with Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him), and he too, as soon as he said the salam, would get up so quickly as though he were sitting on hot stones.
This hadith is sahih (authentic), and the two Shaykhs did not take it not because of any criticism but only because of one narrator. This is a practised Sunnah, and this is its chain.

Explanation & Benefits

Grading: (2) Its chain is weak. 'Abdullah bin Farrukh al-Khurasani narrates munkar reports. Variation in the chain: The trustworthy imam 'Abd al-Razzaq narrated it in his "Musannaf" (3231) from Ibn Jurayj, who said "It was narrated to me from Anas", which introduces an unknown element into the chain. Reference / Source: The narration of 'Abdullah bin Farrukh was narrated by al-Bayhaqi (2/232) with the chain of Imam al-Hakim. Reference / Source: Ibn Khuzaymah (1717), al-Tabarani and Ibn 'Adi narrated it through various routes from Sa'id bin Abi Maryam. Reference / Source: Ibn Khuzaymah and al-Diya' al-Maqdisi narrated it with the chain of 'Amr bin al-Rabi' from 'Abdullah bin Farrukh. 19/ (11967). Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Its first part (the prayer being light yet complete) is narrated from Anas through several routes in al-Bukhari (708) and Muslim (469).
(Clarification): "al-radf" means stones heated by the sun or by fire.
Reference / Source: (1) This is in his "Sahih" at number (866); the full wording is: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and the men who had prayed would remain as long as Allah willed, then when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up, all the men stood up."
