Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Trials will overwhelm you like pieces of the dark night. In (the era of) those trials, the safest of people will be a man who lives on a mountain peak and subsists on the milk of his goats, or a man who holds the reins of his horse beyond the frontiers and eats from the earnings of his sword."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Hadith Takhrij«
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: The hadith is sahih, and this chain is hasan, as explained earlier at number (2491). Technical note: Za'idah is Ibn Qudamah. Reference: Al-Bazzar (8253) recorded it from Bishr bin Khalid al-'Askari, and Abu Tahir al-Baghdadi in "al-Mukhallisiyyat" (54) through Mahmud bin Ghaylan, both of them from Husayn bin 'Ali al-Ju'fi, from Za'idah bin Qudamah, with this chain, as marfu'. Technical note (defect): Ibn Abi Shaybah differed, narrating it in his "Musannaf" (15/59) from Husayn bin 'Ali as mawquf on Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him). Preferred view: And the marfu' version is better preserved.
