حدثنا الحسن بن يعقوب بن يوسف العَدْل: قال يحيى بن أبي طالب: حدثنا زيد بن الحُبَاب، حدثنا حسين بن واقد قال: معاذُ بن حَرمَلة الأزديُّ قال: سمعتُ أنسَ بنَ مالك يقول: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "يأتي على الناس زمانٌ تُمطِرُ السماءُ مطرًا (1)، ولا تُنبِتُ الأرضُ" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A time will come upon the people when the sky will rain abundantly, but the earth will grow nothing."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

(1) في مصادر التخريج: مطرًا عامًّا، وهو أوجَهُ.
Textual verification: In the sources of the takhrij the wording is "مطرًا عامًّا" (widespread rain), and this is the better reading.
(2) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد محتمل للتحسين من أجل معاذ بن حرملة، فهو تابعي لم يذكر بجرح أو تعديل، وقد تفرَّد بالرواية عنه حسين بن واقد، وذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات" 5/ 423، وقد توبع على حديثه، وباقي رجال الإسناد لا بأس بهم.
Grading: The hadith is sahih, and this chain can possibly be graded hasan because of Mu'adh bin Harmalah;
Technical note: he is a Follower (tabi'i) about whom neither criticism nor commendation is recorded, and Husayn bin Waqid alone narrates from him; however, Ibn Hibban mentioned him in "al-Thiqat" (5/423), and he has been corroborated in his hadith, while the rest of the narrators in the chain are acceptable (la ba's bihim).
وأخرجه أحمد 19/ (12429) عن زيد بن الحباب، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference: Ahmad (19/12429) recorded it from Zayd bin al-Hubab, with this chain.
وقد سلف ضمن حديث برقم (8723) من طريق حماد بن سلمة عن ثابت البناني عن أنس.
Note: It has already passed within a hadith at number (8723) through Hammad bin Salamah, from Thabit al-Bunani, from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him).
