It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon a time will come when Allah Almighty will fill your hands with non-Arabs; then they will prove to be lions (on the battlefield) who do not flee. They will kill your fighters and consume your spoils (fay')."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Textual verification: In the manuscripts the wording is "فيكونون أسبالا", which is a corruption.
Textual verification: In the manuscripts it is "فيئهم", which is a corruption. The correction is from al-Dhahabi's "Talkhis al-Mustadrak" and the sources of the takhrij.
Grading: Its chain is sahih. Technical note: Al-Hasan al-Basri's hearing from Samurah bin Jundub is authentic, as we held earlier at number (151). 'Affan is Ibn Muslim al-Saffar. Reference: Ahmad (33/20181) and (20248) recorded it from 'Affan, with this chain. Further references: He (Ahmad) also recorded it at (20246) from Aswad bin 'Amir, and at (20247) from Mu'ammal bin Isma'il, both of them from Hammad bin Salamah, with it. Reference: He (Ahmad) likewise recorded it at (20249) from Hushaym bin Bashir, from Yunus bin 'Ubayd, from al-Hasan al-Basri, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as mursal. Reference: He (Ahmad) recorded it once more at (20123) and (20250) from Surayj bin al-Nu'man, from Hushaym, and he gave it as connected (mawsul) by mentioning Samurah bin Jundub. Technical note: And this is the preserved (mahfuz) version. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic there is also a report from Hudhayfah bin al-Yaman, which will come with the author (al-Hakim) at number (8796), and its chain is weak.
