حدَّثَناهُ علي بن عيسى الحِيرِي، حدثنا محمد بن إسحاق الإمامُ وجعفر بن أحمد الشاماتي، قالا: حدثنا أبو عُبيد الله (1) أحمد بن عبد الرحمن بن وَهْب، حدثنا عمِّي قال: حدثني جَرِير بن حازم، عن عُبيد الله بن عُمر، عن نافع، عن ابن عمر، أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ قال: "يوشكُ المسلمون أن يُحصَروا بالمدينة، حتى يكونَ أبعدَ مَسالحهم سَلَاح" (2). حديث ابن وهب عن جَرير صحيح على شرط مسلم، فقد احتجَّ في كتابه ﵀ بأبي عبيد الله ﵀.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon the Muslims will be besieged in Madinah (by the enemies) to such an extent that their furthest military outpost will be the place Salah."
This narration of Ibn Wahb from Jarir is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, for he used Abu Ubaydullah as evidence in his book.

(1) في النسخ الخطية في هذا الموضع والموضع الآتي: أبو عبد الله، والصواب أنه بالتصغير كما في مصادر ترجمته.
Name verification: In the manuscripts, in this place and the next, the name is written "Abu 'Abdullah", but the correct form is the diminutive (Abu 'Ubaydullah), as in the sources for his biography.
(2) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن من أجل أحمد بن عبد الرحمن بن وهب، وقد توبع.
Grading: The hadith is sahih, and this chain is hasan because of Ahmad bin 'Abd al-Rahman bin Wahb, and he has been corroborated.
وعمُّه: هو عبد الله بن وهب الحافظ الثقة.
Technical note: His paternal uncle is 'Abdullah bin Wahb, the trustworthy hafiz.
وأخرجه ابن حبان (6771) عن الحسن بن سفيان، عن إبراهيم بن المنذر الحزامي، عن عبد الله بن وهب، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference: Ibn Hibban (6771) recorded it from al-Hasan bin Sufyan, from Ibrahim bin al-Mundhir al-Hizami, from 'Abdullah bin Wahb, with this chain.
وأخرجه أبو داود (4250) و (4299) قال: حُدِّثتُ عن ابن هب، به.
