It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a night will come upon the Book of Allah Almighty when it will be taken up (from the earth) to the heaven. So in the morning not a single verse of the Qur'an will remain on the earth, nor will any verse of the Torah, the Injil or the Zabur survive. And it will also be pulled out of people's hearts, so they will reach the morning not knowing at all what this (Qur'an) was.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits

Grading: Its chain is sahih. Technical note: Abu Malik al-Ashja'i is Sa'd bin Tariq, and Abu Hazim is Salman al-Ashja'i. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: It is narrated similarly as marfu' by the route of 'Ali bin Mushir, from Sa'd bin Tariq (Abu Malik al-Ashja'i), from Abu Hazim, from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), with the words: "And the Book of Allah will be taken away by night and raised up to the sky, until not a single verse of it remains." Ibn Hibban narrated it in his "Sahih" (6853) as part of a long hadith, and his chain up to 'Ali bin Mushir is hasan. Reference: Abu Mansur al-Daylami narrated it in "Musnad al-Firdaws", as found in Ibn Hajar's "al-Ghara'ib al-Multaqatah" (3596), by the route of al-Fudayl bin Sulayman, from Abu Malik al-Ashja'i, from Rib'i bin Hirash, from Hudhayfah, and (also) from Abu Hazim, from Abu Hurayrah, as marfu', similar to the narration of Ibn Hibban. Grading: This chain is hasan. Note: The hadith of Hudhayfah has already passed in the author's (al-Hakim's) work at no. (8668) as part of a hadith.
